Hot-dog topped with baked beans

Ingredients

1 can 14 oz (398 ml) Graves homestyle baked beans

8 hot dogs

Softened butter

8 hot dog buns

Ketchup

Mustard

8 slices of sandwich pickles

½ onion, chopped - optional

1 cup (250 ml) homemade or store-bought coleslaw

Homemade coleslaw:

1 ½ cup (375 ml) chopped cabbage

1 tbsp (15 ml) canola oil

1 tbsp (15 ml) cider vinegar

Salt and freshly ground pepper

Preparation

  1. In a pot, heat the beans on medium high.
  2. Reheat hot dogs in a pot of hot water or brown in a pan.
  3. Butter hot dog buns. Heat the pan to medium and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden.
  4. Add hot dogs and top with ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, coleslaw. Finish with baked beans.
  5. Enjoy immediately. 

Homemade coleslaw:

  • Mix together all ingredients and let stand for a few minutes.
